Day Camp Director

Manages a council-wide day camp and directs the implementation of GSUSA program, program standards, and safety guidelines. Must be minimum of 21 years of age. Possesses skills in delegating, coordinating and planning. Assists in program development. Ability to recruit, place and train qualified volunteers. Gives direction and guidance in carrying out camp objectives and goals. Develops and maintains a day camp budget and completes necessary finance reports. Works closely with the Membership Services staff of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Committed to teaching, supporting and working toward the highest level of diversity attainable.

Time commitment: Several hours pre-camp and post-camp for planning, training, and evaluation. One week of day camp. May include an overnight stay.

Day Camp Assistant Director

Assists the Day Camp Director in implementation of the council-wide day camp program. Assumes duties and responsibilities as determined with the Day Camp Director. Acts as director in the event of illness or absence of the Day Camp Director.

Time commitment: Varies. One week of Day Camp.

Day Camp Business Manager

Manages the finances of the Day Camp. Works with the Day Camp Director to prepare the camp budget. Keeps accurate records of income and expenses. Purchases food and supplies as authorized by the director. Maintains petty cash. Responsible for timely payment of bills. Prepares Day Camp finance reports for submission to Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

Day Camp Registrar

Manages the Day Camp registration process within the policies and standards established by Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Receives and keeps records of camp fees, including fees for special programs. Is organized and has demonstrated ability to keep accurate records. Communicates clearly and maintains effective relationships with diverse individuals and groups.

Time commitment: Several hours pre-camp. Flexible schedule.

Day Camp First Aider

Performs first aid treatment to campers, volunteers and visitors as needed within the policies and standards established by Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. First Aid is defined as "the immediate care given to a person who has been injured or has been suddenly taken ill until the services of a licensed physician have been obtained". Sets up and maintains the first aid station, first aid kit, and individual health records for girls and adults. Implements the safety and first aid standards established in "Safety Wise". Keeps accurate daily records and details of all first aid treatment given, and issues insurance claim forms when necessary.

Time commitment: Several hours pre-camp preparation. One week on-site during Day Camp. May include an overnight stay.

Day Camp Program Director

Manages and implements the day camp program. Coordinates unit and camp-wide program activities, including any arrangements for outside program consultants to provide programs. Participates in training Unit Leaders and program volunteers prior to camp.

Time commitment: Varies. One week on-site during Day Camp. May include an overnight stay.

Day Camp Equipment Manager

Coordinates and maintains day camp equipment. Responsible for ordering equipment, arranging for safe storage and keeping inventory of equipment. Sets procedures for distribution and collection of equipment used by units.

Time commitment: Varies. Several hours during opening and closing days of Day Camp.

Day Camp Unit Leader

Manages the Day Camp unit program as determined by the director. Implements program that is age level appropriate and sensitive to girls' developmental maturity and abilities. Works in partnership with girls in planning and decision making. Is comfortable working in an outdoor setting. Supervises unit housekeeping and care of supplies and equipment.

Time commitment: One evening orientation and training prior to camp. One week on-site during Day Camp. May include an overnight stay.
