Girl Scouts offers activities and events throughout the year in a safe environment that give girls the opportunity to express their talents, build assets, and learn ways to protect themselves. The family situations of some girls are challenging aspects of their lives. For example, as a result of donors just like you over 500 girls, including many from public housing, were able to attend camp in 2003. One girl from public housing had such a positive experience she became a camp aide for one week at day camp. She wanted to give back because she so valued her week-long camp experience. She had never had such a wonderful time, emerging with new skills, greater confidence, and new dreams!
