For 90 years resident camp has been an integral part of the Girl Scout experience, offering girls the opportunity to build self-confidence, develop leadership skills, make friends, and have fun in an outdoor setting. Choosing a summer camp is a very important decision. Once you are sure that a sleepover camping experience is right for your daughter, then Camp Timberlane is your answer. For more than 46 years girls have been coming to Camp Timberlane, often returning for more than one session during a summer.
Our resident camp program is structured to provide a wide variety of experiences. Tailored to the age and experience of each camper, our program has the key ingredients to provide an overall quality experience for girls-choices and challenges, physical activity, caring counselors, safety, and personal attention. Sessions range in length from 3 days to 2 weeks and often include horseback riding, archery, swimming, adventures like canoeing, and so much more. Campers live in units that are distinctive and unique, featuring both cabin style and platform tent sleeping arrangements. They meet at Stocker Lodge for meals and all-camp activities. The Health Center is staffed throughout each session, ensuring the safety and well being of girls. A favorite among the girls is Timberlane Treasures, stocked with Camp Timberlane mementos.
We know from experience that a good relationship with the counselors can make the stay even better. All our staff are trained, but more importantly they are self-motivated to provide a positive and memorable experience for the girls. Our staff has had reference checks and personal interviews followed by comprehensive training prior to camp's opening day.
ACA is the American Camping Association, an independent agency that imposes the highest standards of health, safety, program, and staffing in the country. Camps are periodically visited and must maintain high marks to display the ACA emblem, which Camp Timberlane proudly does. In addition, Camp Timberlane also adheres to local and state laws, and Girl Scout USA guidelines are carefully observed.
